The Eternal Optimist Who Triumphed In The Face of Defeat ?? “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sometimes life hands you cute little fuzzy teddies, a bubbling warm jacuzzi, oh so dreamy rich, creamy, dark chocolate complete with some delicious ice cream and a cherry on top – HEAVEN. Other times however “fate” flips the coin rather treacherously, mercilessly dealing us deadly blows. What we chose to do at that very moment determines the man we truly are.

Former Special Adviser on Education, Science and Technology and Co – Founder, Partners for Education, might be on the top of the success ladder now but way back, she didn’t have it smooth.

The Nigerian born years back journeyed to London armed with a degree in Bontany, but that was no guarantee; she had to roll sleeves real high working several low-grade jobs: from shop assistant, to a train driver on London Underground alongside cleaning jobs, the spirited Alabi did it all but kept focused. Eventually along the line while juggling several jobs she bagged her Masters degree in business administration (MBA) South Bank University. Things would gradually begin to fall in place.

An illustrious career with over 25 year post qualification experience as an educator, administrator and education consultant, her passion for children and result-oriented attitude paved way for her, cementing her place as an authoritative voice in her field.

Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi who served as former Special Advicer to the immediate past Governor of Ogun State on Education, Science and Technology, in March 2001 had the highest honours of being recognised in London by the then British Prime Minister Rt. Hon Tony Blair and wife, Cherie CBE QC in recognition of her contribution to excellence in Education and Childcare in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi is currently the Country Lead for MESH (Mapping Educational Specialist Know How) SDG Programme in education and the Country Director for Partners in Education (PIE). ?
