American singer and actress Thelma Louise Hopkins swept hearts in the 1970s as member of pop music group Tony Orlando and Dawn which ditched out several hit tracks.
The late 1970s saw Hopkins delve into the acting world, playing roles on various sitcoms, including Isabelle Hammond on Bosom Buddies (1980–82), Adelaide “Addy” Wilson on Gimme a Break! (1983–87) and Family Matters (1989–1997) as Rachel Baines–Crawford.
Her career received a boost in the 90s when she began casting as lead; Hopkins went on to star on Getting By from 1993 to 1994, was a member on Half & Half (2002–06) Are We There Yet? (2010–13), and short-lived Partners (2014) among others.
