Emmy Award-nominated actress, writer and producer Issa Rae has amassed incredible success in Hollywood and now she’s focused on bringing other aspiring talents along on her success journey.
The Insecure star announced the launch of a MasterClass to teach creatives how to break into Hollywood.
“My @MasterClass is here!” Rae shared on Twitter, along with a promo for her online class. “In it, I talk about building characters, finding your voice, and how to build and grow with other creative people. I hope you’ll join me!”
Divulging details about the course, the actress further wrote:
“I’m going to teach you everything I know about how I DIY’ed myself into Hollywood,” Rae wrote in a caption. “I’ll teach you about how I build characters who look and feel like the people around me. We’re going to talk about finding your voice and your story; we’re going to talk pilot writing; we’re going to talk about how to build and grow with other creative people.”
“It doesn’t matter if you want to create a web series or a TV show or just a trend-setting dance move,” she continued. “If you feel like you only have one shot, you’re playing the game wrong. I hope you join me!”
Rae who will break down scenes from her award-winning series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl” and “Insecure,” will take participants of first online course on her journey “creating outside the lines” in Hollywood, according educational streaming platform MasterClass.
Through a series of 14 video lessons, Rae will discloses how she’s navigated Hollywood as a Black creator, and share an inside look behind her do-it-yourself method to help others take their creative ideas to the next level, afrotech reports.
