Given how stubborn and bold I am in my thinking, is it any wonder that I raise
my child unlike most average parents?
My mum who never got a chance at designing her own life earlier on may not
have been able to give me formal education, but she certainly helped me
develop huge muscles for swimming in the deep end of life with the big sharks
(I love you mum). Today I am able to enjoy such a graceful, harmonious,
healthy and prosperous lifestyle thanks to every experience my life presented.
I don’t know what your life's journey has been like but I can assure you that if
you are a mother or plan to be one in future, you can't afford not to teach your
child/children this powerful discipline.
The masses as a whole will always be slow in revival and regeneration, so if
you’re waiting for your kids to learn about the best ways to build their own
successful futures through schools – good luck with that! Do give me a ring a
decade from now and let me know how that's fairing on!
In all seriousness, I do have very strong views on parenting and while I do my
best not to impose myself on other parents, some things are just too painful to
let slip by.
I can't tell you how many team members from my greenhouse as well as new
prospects who get on a breakthrough call with me each day continue to claim
that they desire freedom, success and prosperity. How they desperately want
to change their lives and yet, the stretch seems almost unbearable.
Here's the big issue with most people. It has in fact been recorded as one of
the main obstacles success seekers face:
The Lack of Personal Integrity and Ability To Follow Through!
So far after serving many different people from varying backgrounds, I realize
this is one of the top 10 problems that tends to rob people of their otherwise
awesome freedom lifestyles. So I decided that I was going to ensure that my
child never had to deal with this unnecessary paradigm, by teaching her the
importance of learning how to follow through and persevere in anything and
everything she commits to.
The one powerful thing you must teach your child if you want them to
create prosperity and success is the disciplined practice of seeing
things through. They need to learn how to be in integrity with their own
thinking and commitments. They need to master the mindset that knows
how to persevere rightly.
It is a discipline that must be taught to our children as early on as possible
and it begins with you shifting their outlook on challenges and seeming failure.
It's totally mind-blowing how many people just don't follow through on
anything they start. And they know and hate themselves for it! This is what
leads to those manifestations of self-punishment and self-sabotage.
I have people who email me, sharing how tired and fed up they are of just
getting by in life; fed up of starting something and never following through.
Then in the same stroke they will often pledge to "finally get their stuff
together and see things through" so I always challenge them with a simple
action step and tell them to email be back in exactly 3 days – you know what
happens? I never hear from them again.
Often I will speak to a person who desires to have a profitable online business
and to enjoy the luxury of earning an income while sleeping, and yet as soon
as we're done speaking they never take the next step to turn that dream into
reality.
After speaking with thousands of these people, I realize there are similarities
in their paradigms.
• They started off as smart kids, went to school and didn’t even have to try so
hard yet still did well.
• They were so used to being pampered and praised by parents. Once they
encountered real challenges (typically, college-level academics and the
lack of structure of how life really works), they began hitting walls hard.
Seeming failure started showing its ugly face.
• Having never failed before and never having developed the right mindset,
they panicked, got stuck, and here they are
Such people will often tell you that they used to love how much “freedom”
their parents gave them, but they now wish their parents had pushed them
and forced them to learn the skill of discipline.
That's why it's so crucial for you as a parent to start empowering your child in
the right way. You must avoid falling into this trend that many seem to be
trapped in, if not for your own sake then at least do it for your child because
their future success depends on the habits, patterns of thinking and mental
conditioning that you install in them. And yes you are the one installing things
in them, that's why you were given the privilege by the divine of being the
mother. Since you are going to have a powerful influence over your child's
future, why not ensure it becomes a powerful, uplifting influence by teaching
them how to be in integrity with their own self and how to follow through on
everything they commit to, starting now!
Of course the only question that remains now is: Are you good at following
