Age-long belittling labels have been apportioned on the girl child but now, thankfully the narrative is being changed by the day.
Winner of the 2018/2019 spelling Bee competition which held across the state, Miss Eniola Ajala from Lafiaji Senior High School, emerged Lagos State Governor for a day.
During her one day as Governor of the state, Ajala and her cabinet members paid a visit to the Lagos House, Ikeja, Lagos on Friday, March 26, 2021, while thanking the Governor for the opportunity, she called for the provision of more infrastructure for schools.
She also commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration THEMES agenda and how the efforts of the governor in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor, applauding Ajala for demonstrating confidence, knowledge, eloquence and pride, also promised to fulfill the requests made.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also appreciated former First Lady of Lagos State and the founder of New Era Foundation, Oluremi Tinubu, who is currently representing the Lagos Senatorial District in the National Assembly, for initiating the Spelling Bee Competition 20 years ago.
Speaking with journalists at the event, the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, said the winners of the Spelling Bee competition will be sponsored on a tour to Finland.
