Molestation, harrasment, some maimed and confined to wheelchairs, countless lives lost each day at the hands of #SARS officials whose duty it is to protect.

The Nigerian youths have had to suffered the unimaginable with tales of gross abuse of human rights at her every turn at the hands of the government as well as police authorities with whose tax with which they are being paid:

Affluence equates the fraudster tag
An ownership of a laptop or iphone, seals it up, tattoos automatically lands you in the hardened criminal department.
Women are being raped and
Innocent souls are ultimately murdered and to ice it up, their families are dared to do their worst.

These are not stories meant for the books but real life happenings, the reality of Nigerians and the now the country has had it. For the very first time, youths are speaking up and fighting for their rights.

As we continue lending our voices to the fight against injustice we remember fallen souls who lives were untimely cut by #policebrutality

KOLADE JOHNSON

36 year old shot and killed Sunday March 31st in Mangoro area of Lagos state by Inspector Ogunyemi Olalekan of the Gbagada division of the Lagos State Police Command’s Special Anti Cultism Squad (SACS) during an attempt to arrest one Ismail Folorunsho just because of his dreadlocks. Kolade had gone to watch an English Premier League game and only tried to help upon sighting Ismail being assaulted by SARS. He was shot at close range. Officers say otherwise “they had received a distress call of a “group of guys smoking Indian hemp. We thought they’re cultists and effected an arrest there.” The officer in question says he only shot once, up in the air.

ANITA AKAPSON
31, a niece of former Nigerian Minister of Finance, Nenadi Usman was shot to death on October 13, 2018 at about 9.45 pm, at Katampe, Abuja by Inagozie Godwin.
Her Honda Accord tyre was first shot before she was shot in the stomach right in front of her house at Katampe Extension.

After schooling in Cyprus, Anita came back Nigeria and was working for National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) before meeting her death many thanks to a trigger happy policeman. The police claimed Anita had been a suspected “hoodlum” who was shot in error but that was not true, it was deliberate, after the shooting, it took the police over an hour to convey her to the hospital, leading to her death.

IFEOMA ABUGU:
28 year old graduate of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, sexually assaulted, tortured and killed by the personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Federal Capital Territory Command, Abuja.
She was killed four days after introduction after being abducted by SARS officials on September 10, 2020, who had gone to “arrest” her fiancé, Afam Ugwunwa, at Wumba village near Lokogoma area of Abuja, Nigeria, upon meeting his absence they took her along, sexually assulted her and murdered her the next day. #SARS would later claim she died from a drug overdose.

AYOMIDE TAIWO.
20 years old fashion designer attacked by Police in Osun state who died 6 days later on August 9, 2020 after slipping into coma after being hit with a rifle on the head by inspector Ago Egharevba for refusing to offer 50 naira bribe.

CHIBUKE ANAMS

23 year old student Chibuke had merely been sitting with two friends at a guesthouse in Elimgbu, Rivers State, on 24 July 2009 when police raided the guest house. Gripped with fear and upon an attempt to escape he was shot dead on the spot. His friends were arrested but later released.

Chibuike Anams’ family reported him missing at the Police Headquarters in Port Harcourt after he didn’t return home. They found out about his death almost a week later after visiting several police stations.

KAZEEM TIAMIYU
21 year old rising football star Kazeem, assistant captain of Nigeria National League side, Remo Stars, was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle February 2020 after operatives of SARS pushed him out from a moving car in Sagamu, Ogun State.

He had been picked by SARS despite his club ID.
It was barely two weeks after landing an invite to go to Sweden for a football trial.
His death sparked protests in south-western Nigerian city of Sagamu leading to three more deaths.

PETER OFURUM

Peter Chibuzor Ofurum, President of Management Science, University of Port Harcourt was killed by the police in 2016.

The first class student of Accounting was shot dead at point-blank range during a protest organized by students to voice their greivance against increment in school fees

These heartwrenching report doesn’t even represent quarter of souls in totality who have lost their lives to the police force.

We also remember other fallen victims whose lives were brutally cut shot due to police brutality. You will forever be remembered.
