Congratulations are in order for award winning writer, producer, director and distributor of independent film #AvaDuvernay as The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences @theacademy has added the renowned filmmaker to its 2020 -2021 Board of Governors.
Ava’s amazing work has so far landed her with the Emmy, BAFTA, BET, Glamour award amongst others.
Her directorial work includes the historical drama SELMA, the criminal, When They See Us, 13th, Wrinkle in Time, Queen Sugar, Middle of Nowhere Months to name but a few.
Meanwhile @whoopiGoldberg is among the text governors returning to the board for a new three term.
