Nigeria, dubbed the giant of Africa sadly lags, with basic ICT infrastructures internet, computers, software knowledge nonexistent owing to a spike in corruption and therefore poverty, leading to lack of quality education, electricity, infrastructure amongst other factors, her future relevance is at the moment visibly threatened.

Determined to change the narrative, globally recognized digital technology solutions expert
Nkemdilim Uwaje Begho kicked off her digital and IT firm, Futuresoft Nigeria.

With more than 15 years hands-on experience in the tech sector, the top serial entrepreneur has brought refreshing innovations to the country.

Inspired by her dad Chris Uwaje, a renowned IT professional, his influence on her chosen career path and life, in general, comes unquantifiable. As a child, Nkemdilim had the privilege of always being surrounded by the newest technology, her father noticed her passion and encouraged it. At 16, her parents further hired a programming teacher for her sibling and her which further deepened her love for technology.

The tech expert would later go on to
study Bioinformatics at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich Germany. She kicked off
her entrepreneurial path in 2008 with Future Software Resources Ltd. into one of Nigeria’s leading IT Service companies.

Ms. Uwaje began her professional career in Germany where she worked on high-profile research projects at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Psychiatric Research in the department for Statistical Genetics and Proteomics, as well as for the Pharmaceutical Company, Affectis Pharmaceuticals AG, Germany.

She graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) & Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany, where she received a BSc. Hons in Bioinformatics. Her entrepreneurial journey started with Future Software Resources Limited, and she has been at the helm of the business ever since.

Nkemdilim Uwaje Begho has always loved a challenge and being woman in a male-dominated field presents the perfect opportunity to prove naysayers wrong as well as carve a path for other women to follow. Ever since getting her footings in the tech space, the driven expert has never looked back for sure. Today she is well revered as a well-recognized leader in her field.

A regular volunteer for mentoring and empowerment programs Ms. Nkemdilim isn’t just thrilled about her success journey but the burning desire lives to touch lives.

In 2019 she was appointed a Non-Executive Director for Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc.

Ms. Uwaje is a proud recipient of many awards, including the Jim Ovia Prize for Software Excellence and the Etisalat Prize for Innovation, a recognized as a 2019 Obama African Leader; Forbes’s Top Ten Female Tech Founders to watch in Africa; Global Digital Women top 10 Most Inspiring Women in Africa; Lionesses of Africa top 100 Women; YTech Top 100 most Innovative in the Nigerian Tech space; Ventures Africa 42 most Innovative Africans, and has been named one of 8 Lord’s Achievers in 2019, as well as one of the top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent.
