Nigerians woke up on Monday July 25, 2022 to the news of female athlete, Tobi Amusan’s win.
The athlete broke the women’s 100m hurdles world record at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Tobi ran a 12.40 seconds in her opening performance thereby, setting a new African record and Nigeria’s fastest time in the history of the competition.
Tobi’s finished two hundred seconds faster than Glory Alozie who won a silver medal in the same event 23 years ago having finished with 12.44 seconds in Seville, Spain.
